St Bede’s College is proud to be at the forefront of wellbeing with new positive masculinity program for students – The Common Ground: Future Fit Masculinities.
The Common Ground Project, led by the Foundation for Positive Masculinity (+M) in partnership with Tomorrow Man | Tomorrow Woman and SNA Toolbox, aims to reduce negative attitudes and behaviours among boys and young men.
In 2025, the project will work with our College to offer evidence-based programs for students to promote healthy expressions of masculinity and tackle attitudes linked to gender-based violence. Activities will include workshops, the +M curriculum on masculinity, and online surveys to gauge attitudes on masculinity and peer influence. Parents will also have access to in-person information sessions and resources on fostering positive masculinity.
It is common for teenagers to start pushing boundaries and asserting themselves in the adult world. Maintaining positive relationships with your child at this time is incredibly important. Ensuring open communication helps reduce conflict and can foster improved wellbeing and engagement in schooling.

As a College, we are excited to gain innovative insights from the Common Ground Project, which we believe will enhance learning and wellbeing opportunities for every student and the wider community.
